Bring this training course to your ministry.

Hi, I'm Phil DuFrene

In March, 2000 I went to a Civil War re-enactment. After the battle I visited the Confederate camp and asked their battlefield chaplain about his ministry. He said he was influencing people for Christ because he was going to people who often didn't go to church. Then he said to me,
"Christians need to be willing to get out of their churches at least once a month and go where the world is."

That advice changed my life forever.

I became a Civil War chaplain as well...a Union chaplain. Several times a year Roger and I stare at each other across the battlefield, encouraging our respective soldiers to 'fight' for home and country. Off the field we're the best of friends as minister to the needs of our the soldiers in our camps.

Based on my chaplain experiences onboard ships, in jails, in the workplace and as a Civil War re-enactor, I want to share what I've learned with you.

This is a practical, street-level approach to chaplain training. I leave the administration and theology to your individual ministry. This course emphasizes the Biblical basis for chaplaincy, the chaplain's heart and your personal relationship with God and those you serve. I help you find the opportunities for ministry in your community that are around you every day. We discover how to handle everyday questions and problems, and how to avoid situations that could destroy your ministry. And I'll expose you to some ideas that will make you rethink ministry.

I also believe the session on Ministry to Blue Collar Workers is essential to churches located in the suburbs or those who want to serve the general public.

Who can benefit from the course?
* Volunteers who need to know what to do as well as what not to do.
* Individuals interested on a future career in chaplaincy.
* Church and ministry staff members who want to sharpen their ministry skills for serving people outside their church.
* People who want to know how to be a spiritual leader in their social, recreational and work settings.
